Personalised Digital Learning Programme
The Ministry of Education (MOE) introduced the Personalised Digital Learning Programme (PDLP) to strengthen teaching and learning through the purposeful use of technology. Under the programme, every secondary school student was equipped with a school-prescribed Personal Learning Device (PLD) by the end of 2021. The PDLP aims to achieve the following outcomes:
Support the Development of Digital Literacies
Students will develop essential digital literacy skills, including gathering and critically evaluating online information, communicating responsibly within digital communities, and creating digital content and products.
Support Self-Directed and Collaborative Learning
Students can independently access digital resources to explore topics of interest beyond the curriculum. They can also exchange and build on one another’s ideas, deepening and refining their understanding through collaboration.
Enhance Teaching & Learning
The PDLP learning environment enables teachers and students to harness technology to enhance teaching and learning. For example, instructions, learning activities and feedback can be tailored to meet each student’s learning needs.
In 2025, the prescribed PLD for Secondary 1 students will be a Chromebook. More information will be shared during the Secondary 1 Welcome Night.
