Deepavali 2026: A Celebration of Colours, Culture and Togetherness
A splash of colour, a touch of creativity and a whole lot of festive cheer! The spirit of Deepavali came alive at CCKSS as our CCKSians immersed themselves in the vibrant traditions and rich cultural heritage of the Festival of Lights.
From trying their hand at intricate henna designs to painting colourful clay lamps, our CCKSians experienced the joy of discovering Indian culture through a variety of engaging activities. Festive greeting card-making brought out their creativity, while the opportunity to try on traditional Indian attire offered a glimpse into the beauty and diversity of Indian customs. Adding to the excitement was a lively Deepavali quiz, where our CCKSians put their knowledge of the festival and its traditions to the test!
Beyond the colourful activities and festive atmosphere, the celebration offered something even more meaningful — an opportunity to learn about one another, appreciate different traditions and embrace the multicultural tapestry that makes Singapore unique. Through these shared experiences, our CCKSians discovered that understanding and respecting different cultures help build stronger friendships and a more inclusive school community.
Made possible by the dedication of our Tamil Unit and Mother Tongue Department, the celebration was a wonderful reminder that the true spirit of Deepavali extends beyond lights and festivities. It is about spreading joy, celebrating goodness and strengthening the bonds that bring us together as one CCKSS family.
