Celebrating the Heartbeats of Our School: Teacher’s Day 2026
Every year, Teacher’s Day brings a unique kind of magic to our school grounds. The familiar rustle of textbooks and hum of morning lectures give way to a vibrant sense of gratitude, joy, and community. It is a day dedicated entirely to honoring the incredible individuals who guide, inspire, and care for us daily.
Prior to Teachers' Day morning, our teachers had a lovely treat from our After School Activity students who rolled up their sleeves and made tasty bubble tea for their teachers! Mr Cheng, our Principal, also brought in ice-cream from Uncle Chieng! What a delightful way to ease into the celebrations!
The morning of the Teachers' Day celebrations kicked off inside individual classrooms, transformed by students into festive party hubs. Streamers lined the whiteboards, desks were pushed together, and handmade cards sat waiting alongside homemade treats and shared platters. Laughter echoed down the hallways as students and teachers shared breakfasts, played icebreaker trivia games, and took countless photos. Beyond the decorations, the true highlight was the quiet moments where students presented heartfelt notes, thanking teachers for staying late after class, offering kind words on difficult days, and creating safe, encouraging spaces to learn. Our Mother Tongue HOD, Mdm Tan Yoke Hong was also very surprised to receive a very, very, very long letter of gratitude from a student!
By mid-morning, the entire school gathered in the hall for the annual student-run concert—an event kept secret until the curtain raised. Organizers and performers poured weeks of hidden practice into an unforgettable lineup, featuring dynamic dance routines and soulful musical acts. We even found out about hidden singing talents when our teachers came up on stage to sing with our students!
The warmth extended far beyond the current student body. As the concert wrapped up, the courtyard filled with returning alumni. Former students walked through the gates to reunite with the mentors who shaped their journeys, sharing news of college pursuits, new careers, and life updates. Seeing teachers greet their past graduates with tight hugs and proud smiles served as a gentle reminder of an educator’s lifelong impact. We were even featured on MOE's Teachers' Day Facebook Reel!
