Singapore Garden Festival – Gardeners' Cup Competition

Chua Chu Kang Secondary School is proud to celebrate an outstanding achievement at the Singapore Garden Festival – Gardeners' Cup Competition, where the West Team received three prestigious awards: Best of Show, Outstanding Sustainability Elements and Outstanding Community Crafts.

This remarkable success reflects the creativity, teamwork and dedication of our CCKSians and teachers, who worked together to transform everyday recyclable materials into an inspiring garden display. Guided by Mdm Normala, our CCKSians creatively repurposed aluminium cans and can tabs into striking works of art, demonstrating how sustainability and innovation can come together to create meaningful impact. Mr Zul also played a key role in the project by lending his expertise to create an impressive robot display that became one of the exhibition's centrepieces.

Titled Quantum Fair 3026, the award-winning display imagines a world 1,000 years into the future, where artificial intelligence-powered robots gather at a futuristic carnival fuelled entirely by plants and sustainable materials. Through this imaginative concept, our CCKSians explored themes of environmental responsibility and encouraged visitors to reflect on how the choices we make today can help build a greener and more sustainable future.

The achievement also provided an opportunity for members of the school's Environmental Science Club to visit the Singapore Garden Festival, where they celebrated the team's success while drawing inspiration from the many innovative and sustainable displays showcased at the event.

This accomplishment is a testament to Chua Chu Kang Secondary School's commitment to nurturing environmentally conscious, innovative and future-ready learners. By combining creativity with sustainability, our CCKSians have demonstrated that meaningful ideas and collaborative effort can create positive change within the community and beyond.
