Deepavali Concert 2023
The CCKSS community came together to celebrate Deepavali, the Festival of Lights, through an afternoon of vibrant performances, cultural appreciation and festive cheer.
The celebration began with an elegant welcome as two performers dressed as peacocks led the school leaders and guests into the hall, setting the stage for the festivities. Principal Mr Timothy Cheng, together with members of the Tamil Unit, officially opened the concert with the traditional lighting of the Deepavali lamp, symbolising hope, prosperity and new beginnings.
Students and staff were treated to an exciting programme of music and dance that showcased the richness of Indian culture. Performances by CCKSS students, teachers and members of the Parent Support Group filled the hall with energy, while Mr Benjamin and Ms Izzati delighted the audience with a lively Tamil song performance.
A special highlight of the concert was a captivating performance by dancers from the Nrityodaya Indian Cultural Centre in Johor Bahru. Arranged through the support of Mr Steven Joseph (PBM), Chairman of the Chua Chu Kang CC IAEC, the guest performers impressed the audience with their colourful costumes, graceful choreography and dynamic stage presence.
The Deepavali Concert was a joyful celebration of Singapore's multicultural heritage, providing students with meaningful opportunities to appreciate diverse cultures while strengthening the spirit of unity and inclusiveness within the CCKSS community.
