Chinese New Year Celebration
The CCKSS community came together to usher in the Year of the Rabbit with a vibrant Chinese New Year celebration filled with cultural traditions, festive performances and acts of giving.
The festivities began with a lively Lo Hei session in the school hall, where staff and students gathered to toss yusheng while exchanging wishes for prosperity, happiness and good fortune. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as voices rang out across the hall in celebration of the new year.
Students then took part in a range of festive classroom activities. Lower Secondary students showcased their creativity by crafting clay sculptures, while Upper Secondary students prepared festive hampers that were later donated to the Fei Yue Family Service Centre, reflecting the spirit of compassion and community service.
The celebrations continued with a concert officially opened by Principal Mr Timothy Cheng, who struck the ceremonial gong to mark the start of the performances. Together with members of the school leadership team, he also completed a collaborative Chinese calligraphy artwork bearing the auspicious message, "May all your dreams come true."
The audience was treated to an exciting showcase of talent featuring performances by the Choir, Dance and Wushu groups. Students Liew Rui Xiang (3A) and Zhuo Chaofan (3A) also captivated the audience with an impressive diabolo performance, demonstrating remarkable skill and precision.
The celebration concluded with a burst of confetti and enthusiastic applause, bringing a memorable morning of culture, joy and togetherness to a close while reinforcing the values of gratitude, generosity and community at CCKSS.
