Chua Chu Kang Secondary School celebrated Singapore's 58th National Day with a memorable programme that brought together patriotism, school spirit and community service, marking the school's first National Day celebration as a merged school.
A key highlight was the inaugural National Day Parade, where the Uniformed Groups marched proudly to the stirring music of the Concert Band, setting the stage for a new CCKSS tradition. The event was made possible through the dedication of the student leaders, performers and Audio-Visual crew, whose teamwork ensured a successful celebration.
Students also enjoyed level-wide activities that strengthened friendships and school spirit. Secondary One, Four and Five students gathered for cohort picnics at Jurong Lake Gardens, the Singapore Botanic Gardens and Marina Barrage respectively, where they celebrated together in a relaxed outdoor setting. The experience was made even more memorable with a spectacular F-16 fly-past as part of the National Day celebrations.
Meanwhile, Secondary Two and Three students participated in engaging team-building activities, including a collaborative challenge involving a giant inflatable ball, before coming together in a heartfelt sing-along of familiar National Day favourites, celebrating Singapore's journey as one united community.
Beyond the school, CCKSS students also demonstrated the spirit of service by volunteering at the Chua Chu Kang 58th National Day Observance Ceremony and Open House Carnival 2023, contributing to the local community and embodying the values of active citizenship.
The celebration was a meaningful reminder of the importance of unity, gratitude and service, as CCKSSians proudly celebrated Singapore's birthday and looked forward to many more National Day traditions together.
