Speech Day 2023: Celebrating Excellence, Embracing a New Chapter
On 4 August 2023, Chua Chu Kang Secondary School celebrated a significant milestone by holding its first Speech Day as a merged school. The occasion honoured the achievements of students and staff while marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the school's journey.
A highlight of the ceremony was the unveiling of the school's new Vision, Mission and Values by Principal Mr Timothy Cheng, reflecting the shared aspirations and identity of the CCKSS community. Guests were also treated to the debut of the school's new School Song, a meaningful collaboration conceptualised by both students and teachers.
The event commenced with a Guard of Honour welcoming the Guest of Honour, Mr Michael Chew, Vice Chairperson of the School Advisory Committee. Throughout the ceremony, the audience enjoyed inspiring performances by the Guitar Ensemble and Dance groups, showcasing the talents and creativity of CCKSS students.
The celebration was made even more meaningful with the return of former school leaders, Mdm Adel Ong and Mr N. Sivarajan, who presented the Outstanding CCKSian 2022 Awards to Subash Chandra Bose Sweta and Hailey Ng Yen Teng, recognising their exemplary contributions and achievements.
The ceremony concluded with the CCKSS community standing together to sing the new School Song for the very first time—a proud and memorable moment that symbolised unity, shared purpose and the exciting future ahead for every CCKSSian.
